Hello there! Just found this very sweet and romantic, shabby chic inspired paper bird place card project from Country Living. Originally intended to be a wedding place card, it's lovely enough to grace a summer dinner party table. You can also use it as a sweet notecard to deliver a bit of good news!

Baked by Bree has a super delicious recipe for Lemon Rosemary Yogurt Cake. Fresh lemon and refreshing rosemary make this cake a wonderful tea time accompaniment. LEMON ROSEMARY YOGURT CAKE Ingredients:
3/4 cup butter
2 tbsps. lemon juice
zest of one lemon
2 tsps. vanilla
1/2 cup plain yogurt
3 eggs
1 1/2 cups all purpose flour
2 tsps. baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1 tbsp fresh rosemary, chopped
Glaze:
1/2 cup powdered sugar
2-3 tbsps confectioner's sugar
1 tbsp hot water
Directions:
1. In a bowl, sift together dry ingredients. Set aside.
2. Cream butter. Add sugar, eggs, vanilla, lemon juice and yogurt. Blend in the lemon zest.
3. Add dry ingredients and chopped rosemary. Blend well.
4. Pour cake batter onto greased loaf pan.
5. Bake at 350F until done.
6. Combine ingredients for glaze. Mix well and pour over cooled lemon cake.
7. Decorate top with rosemary sprigs.

DIY balloon kit/Purchased balloons
Permanent marker
Directions:
1. Use DIY balloon kit or purchase some colorful balloons.
2. Using black permanent marker pen, draw or doodle kawaii face expressions onto balloons. Get as creative as you can!
3. Your kawaii balloons are now ready for decorating your party!

Welcome to the first day of Handmade Summer Craft Days! From today until the end of July I will be sharing my summer inspired arts and crafts projects and even throw in bits of drink and food recipes.

Clothesline Bunting Handmade Card
Materials:
Fabric scraps
Miniature wooden clothespins
5" x 7" blank tent card
Jute twine
Alphabet rubber craft stamp
Fabric ink
Glue gun and glue stick
Directions:
1. Using an alphabet rubber stamp and fabric ink, handstamp letters onto small pieces of bright fabrics to spell out your greeting.
2. Cut out fabric into mini buntings. Clip each bunting individually to miniature clothespin. Attach buntings to piece of jute or natural twine.
3. Apply glue to the back of clothespins and attach to the surface of the 5" x 7" tent card. Decorate ends of the mini bunting clothesline with tiny buttons.
4. Your handmade card is ready! Write away your summer greetings!
