Crafty Year 2011

by - Wednesday, December 28, 2011

I always end the handmade year with a collage of some of the crafts I've made. This year I've pretty much managed to make a few things from my mega list of crafty things to do. I don't really have the luxury of time to try every craft project but next year I would love to focus on crafts that resonate with the Mori Girl sensibility.  That would mean trying out crafts from Therese Laskey and Chika  Mori's Zakka Sewing, Suzuko Koseki's Patchwork Style, Country Living's Crafting Vintage Style as well as embroidery projects from Japanese craft books.

What about you?  What crafty theme or direction are you going to in 2012?

  1. That's a lot of lovely things you've made this year Christy! Wishing you a happy crafty year in 2012 as well :)

Hopefully I'll work on my art and photography more next year. I supposw that'll be the direction I'm aiming for in 2012!

  2. I'm all for the mori girl aesthetic, especially with regards to crafts... The crafts you made this past year are so cute! And it caused me to give pause to think about what I've made this past year. I think that I go from project to project, so have no apparent guiding theme (but would hope that a basic sensibility ties it all together).
The areas I'd like to work on remain the same: blog-related (whether css or image manipulation or photography), crochet and knitting projects... Sewing I gave up because while I was able to make two really nifty skirts, I have no sewing machine, and the skirts (which both had lining and zips) had waistbands that were not as fitted as I would have liked.
What a fun question you asked!
Here's to happy crafting with you in 2012!
